ด้วยพระบัญชาของพระบิดา พระรามจึงพำนักในป่าทัณฑกะ พร้อมด้วยนางสีดาและพระลักษมณ์ และทรงอยู่ ณ ปัญจวฏีด้วยจิตตั้งมั่น มีวินัยและสำรวม
