Skanda (deduced from Setu-khaṇḍa māhātmya narration style)
Tirtha: Setu / Setubandha
Type: kshetra
Scene: A poor pilgrim respectfully requesting minimal travel support, a householder offering coins/food with reverence; above them, a symbolic ‘Setu’ shines, indicating shared merit and absence of stain.
When the motive is purely dharmic—undertaking a tirtha-yātrā—receiving support does not spiritually taint the seeker.
Setu/Setubandha (Rāmeśvaram), for whose pilgrimage even requesting aid is framed as blameless when intention is pure.
Requesting and accepting alms specifically for Setu-yātrā is declared free from pratigraha-doṣa (the blemish of receiving).
