व्यास उवाच । अर्द्धरात्रे तु संप्राप्ते सर्वे निद्रामुपागताः । तातं संप्रार्थयामास कृतानुग्रहको भवान्
vyāsa uvāca | arddharātre tu saṃprāpte sarve nidrāmupāgatāḥ | tātaṃ saṃprārthayāmāsa kṛtānugrahako bhavān
วยาสกล่าวว่า ครั้นถึงยามเที่ยงคืน ทุกคนก็หลับใหลแล้ว เขาจึงวิงวอนต่อบิดาว่า “ท่านได้ประทานพระกรุณาแล้ว—(ขอโปรดทำสิ่งนี้ด้วย)”
