अतीतं वर्तमानं च स्मरामि च सृजाम्यहम् । तैर्विना चाहमेकस्तु मूकोऽधो जडवत्सदा

atītaṃ vartamānaṃ ca smarāmi ca sṛjāmyaham | tairvinā cāhamekastu mūko'dho jaḍavatsadā

ข้าระลึกถึงอดีตและปัจจุบัน และยังบันดาลการสร้างสรรพสิ่งได้ แต่หากปราศจากสิ่งนั้น (พระเวท) ข้าผู้เดียวกลับเป็นผู้ใบ้เสมอ ตกต่ำ และเฉื่อยชา ดุจคนไร้สติ
