रञ्जनाद्रञ्जना प्रोक्ता धात्वर्थे राजसत्तम । तृणवीरुधगुल्माद्यास्तिर्यञ्चः पक्षिणस्तथा । तानुद्भूतान्नयेत्स्वर्गं तेनोक्ता वायुवाहिनी

rañjanādrañjanā proktā dhātvarthe rājasattama | tṛṇavīrudhagulmādyāstiryañcaḥ pakṣiṇastathā | tānudbhūtānnayetsvargaṃ tenoktā vāyuvāhinī

ด้วยความหมายตามรากศัพท์จากคำว่า ‘รัญชนะ’ (ทำให้รื่นรมย์/แต้มสีให้สดใส) โอ้พระราชาผู้ประเสริฐ นางจึงได้ชื่อว่า ‘รัญชนา’ หญ้า เถาวัลย์ พุ่มไม้ และสรรพสัตว์ทั้งหลาย ทั้งสัตว์เดรัจฉานและนก เมื่อบังเกิดขึ้นในอาณาแห่งนาง นางย่อมนำพาไปสู่สวรรค์; เพราะเหตุนั้นนางจึงชื่อว่า ‘วายุวาหินี’ ผู้ถูกลมพา/ผู้พาด้วยลม
