देव्युवाच । नाहं ते दयिता देव नाहं ते वशवर्तिनी । अकृत्वाधश्व वै तासां मानं सुरसुपूजितम्
devyuvāca | nāhaṃ te dayitā deva nāhaṃ te vaśavartinī | akṛtvādhaśva vai tāsāṃ mānaṃ surasupūjitam
พระเทวีตรัสว่า “โอ้เทพเจ้า ข้ามิใช่ที่รักของท่าน และข้ามิได้อยู่ใต้อำนาจท่าน—เว้นแต่ท่านจะทำให้เกียรติของพวกเขาต่ำลงก่อน ซึ่งแม้เหล่าเทวะยังสักการะยิ่ง”
