ईश्वर उवाच । स्वागतं देवविप्राणां सुप्रभाताद्य शर्वरी । किं कुर्मो वदत क्षिप्रं कोऽन्यः सेव्यः सुरासुरैः

īśvara uvāca | svāgataṃ devaviprāṇāṃ suprabhātādya śarvarī | kiṃ kurmo vadata kṣipraṃ ko'nyaḥ sevyaḥ surāsuraiḥ

อีศวรตรัสว่า “ยินดีต้อนรับ โอ้เหล่าเทพและพราหมณ์ฤๅษีทั้งหลาย ราตรีนี้บัดนี้แปรเป็นอรุณอันเป็นมงคลแล้ว จงบอกเราโดยเร็วว่าเราควรกระทำสิ่งใด และมีผู้ใดอื่นเล่าที่ควรแก่การพึ่งพาและการบูชารับใช้ของทั้งเทวะและอสูร?”
