Mārkaṇḍeya
Listener: A king (addressed as rājendra in adjacent verse)
Scene: A devotee offers a steady oil lamp before a liṅga while attendants distribute food to seated dvijas; the atmosphere is calm, fragrant, and auspicious, suggesting healing and purification.
Purification is strengthened by dāna: feeding the worthy and offering light to the deity dissolve sin and support well-being.
The same Revā Khaṇḍa tīrtha in Adhyāya 225 (Alikeśvara setting), where charity and worship amplify tīrtha-phala.
Dvija-bhojana (feeding brāhmaṇas) and dīpa-dāna (offering a lamp) before the deity.
