FAQs

Atonement may require sustained effort and wide-ranging pilgrimage; sacred geography is portrayed as a living path of purification.

The verse broadly gestures to all directions and the ocean as pilgrimage space, setting up the special efficacy of the Revā tīrtha revealed later.

Pilgrimage (paryaṭana) as an expiatory practice is implied.
