प्राप्य चाश्वयुजे मासि कृष्णपक्षे चतुर्दशीम् । अहोरात्रोषितो भूत्वा पूजयित्वा महेश्वरम् । महापातकयुक्तोऽपि मुच्यते नात्र संशयः

prāpya cāśvayuje māsi kṛṣṇapakṣe caturdaśīm | ahorātroṣito bhūtvā pūjayitvā maheśvaram | mahāpātakayukto'pi mucyate nātra saṃśayaḥ

เมื่อถึงวันจตุรทศีแห่งกฤษณปักษ์ในเดือนอาศวยุชะ แล้วพำนักอยู่ครบทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน และบูชาพระมหेशวร ผู้มีบาปหนักยิ่งก็ยังพ้นได้—ไม่ต้องสงสัยเลย
