Tirtha: Ayonija
Type: ghat
Listener: Rājendra (king)
Scene: A serene ascetic at the riverbank, seated in meditation, attended by a priest/disciples; Śiva shrine nearby; the river flows quietly as the soul is imagined to pass beyond rebirth.
The tīrtha is portrayed as a mokṣa-granting field, where a ritually guided end of life is said to culminate in freedom from rebirth.
Ayonija Tīrtha.
Prāṇatyāga “vidhinā” (in accordance with prescribed rule). The verse is laudatory; it does not detail the procedure.
