रुद्राक्ष-माहात्म्य
Rudrākṣa Māhātmya — The Greatness of Rudraksha
तं धारयेद्वामहस्ते रुद्रा क्षं भक्तितत्परः । सर्वेश्वरो भवेन्नूनं मम तुल्यो न संशयः
taṃ dhārayedvāmahaste rudrā kṣaṃ bhaktitatparaḥ | sarveśvaro bhavennūnaṃ mama tulyo na saṃśayaḥ
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Mantra: namaḥ śivāya (implied as bhakti-japa accompanying rudrākṣa-dhāraṇa)
Type: panchakshara
The verse glorifies Rudrākṣa as a Shaiva sacred support for bhakti; by devotion-centered wearing of Rudrākṣa, the devotee gains Shiva’s grace and rises to a state of divine lordship, indicating closeness to Pati (Shiva) through anugraha.
Rudrākṣa functions as an outward sign of commitment to Saguna Shiva worship—supporting daily pūjā, japa, and remembrance of Shiva—thereby strengthening the devotee’s relationship with the Lord who is approached through form, name, and sacred emblems.
Wear or hold Rudrākṣa (here specified in the left hand) with steady bhakti, and pair it with Shiva-japa—especially the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a simple, continuous practice of remembrance.
