Rudrākṣa Māhātmya — The Greatness of Rudraksha
यत्र संपूजितस्तत्र लक्ष्मीर्दूरतरा न हि । नश्यंत्युपद्र वाः सर्वे सर्वकामा भवंति हि
yatra saṃpūjitastatra lakṣmīrdūratarā na hi | naśyaṃtyupadra vāḥ sarve sarvakāmā bhavaṃti hi
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: Not a specific Jyotirliṅga legend; it states a general kṣetra/household principle: where Śiva is properly worshipped, Śrī (prosperity) abides and obstacles are removed.
Significance: Encourages regular Śiva-pūjā as both worldly stabilizer (upadrava-nāśa) and dharmic prosperity, aligning bhakti with well-being.
Shakti Form: Lalitā
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It declares that sincere Shiva-puja aligns the devotee with Pati (Śiva), weakening pasha-like afflictions (upadravas) and bringing both worldly well-being and supportive conditions for dharma and inner steadiness.
The verse supports Saguna worship—approaching Śiva through reverent, complete ritual devotion (saṃpūjā). In the Shiva Purana, Linga worship is a primary, accessible form through which Śiva’s grace manifests as protection, auspiciousness, and fulfillment of rightful aims.
Perform regular Shiva-puja/abhisheka with mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and maintain devotional discipline; this is presented as the means by which disturbances are pacified and auspicious results arise.
