शिवस्य परापरब्रह्मस्वरूपनिर्णयः / Determination of Śiva as Higher and Lower Brahman
अपरं ब्रह्मरूपं च परं ब्रह्मात्मकं तथा । केचिदाहुर्महादेवमनादिनिधनं परम्
aparaṃ brahmarūpaṃ ca paraṃ brahmātmakaṃ tathā | kecidāhurmahādevamanādinidhanaṃ param
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya philosophical teaching to the sages)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It affirms Śiva as both the accessible manifest divinity and the transcendent Supreme—beginningless and endless—so devotion (to the form) and realization (of the formless) converge in Him.
By calling Mahādeva both ‘apara’ and ‘para’ Brahman, the text supports Liṅga/Saguṇa worship as a valid doorway to the same supreme, formless Reality (Para Brahman) that the Liṅga signifies.
Meditate on Śiva as anādinidhana (without beginning or end) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—using the Liṅga as the contemplative support for the Supreme.
