Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Cosmic Event: Cosmic identification of the Lord with Hiraṇyagarbha, Virāṭ, Kāla, and Puruṣa (macrocosmic theophany)
It teaches non-dual supremacy of Pati (Shiva) by listing cosmic principles and revered sages as His manifestations—showing that creation (Hiraṇyagarbha), governance (Lokeśa), the universe (Virāṭ), and dissolution through Time (Kāla) all rest in the one Supreme Purusha.
By naming accessible forms and functions of the Supreme, it supports Saguna contemplation: the devotee worships the Linga as the single support of all—creator-principle, cosmic form, time-power, and inner Self—while remembering that these are expressions of the one Shiva beyond attributes.
Meditate on Shiva as Kāla and the inner Purusha while japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), visualizing the Linga as the axis of Virāṭ; this aligns the mind with detachment from time-bound change and turns it toward liberation.
