Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
Sthala Purana: Cosmographic/ritual mapping: the earth (bhuva) is partitioned (3/4/5), and within a ‘fourth enclosure’ (caturtha-āvaraṇa) Śambhu is worshipped with his gaṇas—suggesting a mandalic or kṣetra-āvaraṇa scheme rather than a single Jyotirliṅga site.
Significance: Teaches kṣetra-bhāvanā: approaching Śiva through progressively sanctified enclosures (āvaraṇas), culminating in gaṇa-sahita worship—fruit is kṣetra-siddhi and protection.
Offering: pushpa
It points to a disciplined, graduated vision of reality—moving through ordered divisions and enclosures—culminating in reverent worship of Śiva (Pati) with His divine hosts, suggesting that spiritual ascent is structured and devotional.
The mention of an “enclosure” (āvaraṇa) aligns with temple and yantric modes of worship where Saguna Śiva is approached through successive sacred circuits, honoring Śiva together with His gaṇas as part of complete Linga-centered pūjā.
Āvaraṇa-style worship: perform circumambulation and stepwise offerings in concentric order, supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and traditional Shaiva marks like bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) where applicable.
