Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīyasaṃhitā teachings to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It teaches that Śaiva initiation and purification are not mere external acts: the guru consecrates the vessel and, while inwardly fixed in meditation on Pati (Śiva), transmits grace through abhiṣeka to uplift the paśu (disciple) toward liberation.
Abhiṣeka is a central Saguna practice—offering sanctified water to Śiva (often through the Liṅga) and extending that sanctifying rite to the disciple, showing that ritual worship and inner contemplation proceed together in Śaiva observance.
Prepare a fully purified and consecrated kalaśa (ghaṭa), and perform abhiṣeka as an initiating rite while continuously meditating on Lord Śiva—ideally supported by Śiva-mantra japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
