Brahma (addressing Lord Shiva, as Supreme Pati whose sanction empowers all beings)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It establishes Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord—whose ājñā (sanction) governs the rise of all aiśvarya (powers). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, individual potency is not autonomous; it is enabled by the Lord’s grace and ordinance.
Linga/Saguna Shiva worship trains the devotee in śaraṇāgati (surrender): recognizing that all success, authority, and spiritual progress depend upon Shiva’s permission. The verse supports devotion as aligning oneself with Shiva’s will rather than ego-driven power.
Practice daily surrender through Panchakshara japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and mental offering of all actions’ fruits to Shiva, cultivating the attitude that every capability and outcome flows from His ājñā.
