Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Ethical stability (dharma) is presented as the ground for true siddhi—aligning royal duty with spiritual fruition.
Role: nurturing
It asserts that steadfastness in dharma is itself a sure cause of the highest siddhi—spiritual fulfillment and auspicious attainment—because dharma aligns the soul (paśu) with Shiva’s order (pati’s grace) and dissolves obstructive tendencies.
Linga-worship in the Shiva Purana is not merely ritual but dharma in action—right conduct, purity, and devotion. By abiding in dharma, the devotee’s worship becomes fit to receive Shiva’s anugraha (grace), which is the real source of siddhi.
The practical takeaway is to make Shiva-upasana dharmic: daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with truthful conduct, self-restraint, and charity—so practice and character support each other and lead to stable spiritual success.
