Nabhaga-Upākhyāna: The Account of Nabhaga and Shiva-Jñāna
kṛṣṇadarśana uvāca | vivāde'sminhi nau tāta pramāṇaṃ janakastava | yāhi tampṛccha sa brūyāttatpramāṇantu satyataḥ
Kṛṣṇadarśana
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It teaches dharmic discernment: when the mind is divided by conflict, one should seek a trustworthy pramāṇa (valid authority) rooted in satya (truth), rather than ego or impulse—supporting the Shaiva ethic of truthfulness and right order.
Though not directly about ritual, it reflects the devotional discipline behind Linga-worship: approach Shiva and dharma with sincerity, accept what is true and properly attested, and let rightful authority guide conduct—qualities essential for fruitful saguna-upāsanā.
A practical takeaway is satya-vrata (a vow of truth) and pausing to consult śāstra or a qualified elder/guru before acting; one may also steady the mind with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to reduce conflict-driven agitation.
