रत्नसिंहासने रम्ये वासयामास मंगलम् । ताम्बूलं च ददौ तस्मै कर्पूरादिसुवासितम्

Seating the guest and offering tāmbūla mirrors the traditional sequence of pūjā-upacāras used for Saguna worship, including in Liṅga-pūjā—treating the deity as a living presence and offering pleasing, sattvic substances with devotion.
It suggests performing pūjā with proper upacāras—offering āsana and fragrant items—while maintaining inner reverence; one may accompany such offerings with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) for focused devotion.
