The Devas
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): even after being saved from one fear, the Devas turn again to Mahādeva as Pati, acknowledging that true security and right action arise from Shiva’s guidance and grace.
The Devas approach Shiva in his accessible, saguna role as Mahādeva—the compassionate Lord who responds to prayer. Linga-worship embodies this same approach: seeking the Lord’s presence, protection, and instruction through devotion.
A practical takeaway is to respond to fresh obstacles with Shiva-śaraṇāgati: steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” coupled with simple worship (bhasma/tripuṇḍra and offering water to the Linga) while praying for right discernment.
