Description of the Viṣṇu–Brahmā Dispute and Brahmā’s Confusion
इत्याकर्ण्य हरिर्वाक्यं मम क्रुद्धो रमापतिः । सोऽपि मामाह जाने त्वां कर्तारमिति लोकतः
ityākarṇya harirvākyaṃ mama kruddho ramāpatiḥ | so'pi māmāha jāne tvāṃ kartāramiti lokataḥ
Brahma (narrating within the Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Lalitā
Role: nurturing
Cosmic Event: deva-level conflict as symptom of concealment: even cosmic administrators fall into contention until anugraha restores right order
It highlights the limitation of worldly designation: even exalted deities speak in terms of public roles (creator, etc.), pointing the seeker toward the higher Shaiva Siddhanta insight that the Supreme Pati (Shiva) transcends such functional labels.
By showing how cosmic offices (creator/preserver) can become grounds for pride or dispute, the text implicitly directs devotion to Shiva as the supreme reality worshiped in the Linga—Saguna for upāsanā, yet indicating the transcendent source beyond all roles.
Cultivate humility and steadiness through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and contemplative remembrance that all cosmic functions arise under the Lordship of Shiva (Pati), reducing ego and anger.
