Role: liberating
It teaches that Śiva’s grace operates through His gaṇas to cut the bonds of fear and karmic consequence, leading the purified soul toward Śiva-loka—symbolizing liberation through devotion and inner cleansing.
Śiva’s attendants represent Saguna Śiva’s active compassion in the world—protecting the devotee and guiding them to His abode. Linga-worship similarly anchors devotion in a tangible form through which Śiva’s saving power is experienced.
Cultivate śuci-mānasa (purity of mind) through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with Śiva-pūjā using bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and steady remembrance of Śiva at the time of death.
