Sūta Gosvāmī (narrating Śaiva worship-teachings to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a sthala-specific passage; it gives a general Śiva-pūjā principle: invoke Śiva in fullness (sāṅga) with His parivāra and worship with sincerity rather than rigid procedural restriction.
Significance: Establishes that bhāva (devotional intent) and proper āvāhana of Pati with His śakti/gaṇa-retinue is spiritually efficacious even when elaborate constraints are absent.
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
The verse prioritizes bhakti and inner sincerity over inflexible formalism: Śiva accepts worship offered with wholeness (sāṅga) and reverence, even when elaborate rules are not strictly followed—supporting the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on grace (anugraha) responding to devotion.
By instructing āvāhana (invocation) and worship of the Deva “with limbs” and “with retinue,” it supports Saguna-upāsanā—worship of Śiva as manifest and approachable (often through the Liṅga as His sacred presence), along with honoring His attendant powers and Śaiva entourage.
Perform āvāhana and pūjā with a complete attitude of reverence—mentally honoring Śiva’s full form and attendants; the practical takeaway is that simple offerings with steady mantra-japa (e.g., pañcākṣarī) and focused devotion are valid even without overly rigid procedural constraints.
