Instruction on Rudra–Viṣṇu Unity and Divine Injunctions
mama bhaktaśca yaḥ svāmiṃstava niṃdā kariṣyati | tasya vai niraye vāsaṃ prayaccha niyataṃ dhruvam
Brahma (speaking to Lord Shiva in the Srishti narrative)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Role: destructive
It teaches that devotion is validated by reverence and right conduct; slandering Shiva is a grave aparadha that deepens bondage (pāśa) and leads to painful karmic consequences rather than grace.
Linga/Saguna worship is grounded in śraddhā and honoring Shiva as Pati; verbal contempt (nindā) contradicts worship and disrupts the devotee’s relationship with the deity, making rituals fruitless.
Practice restraint of speech and daily Shiva-bhakti—japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with humility—while consciously avoiding nindā and cultivating reverent remembrance before worship.
