Tattva Level: pashu
The verse highlights that when pride collapses, the soul (paśu) naturally turns toward surrender. In Shaiva understanding, fear born of wrongdoing can become a doorway to humility, which prepares one for Shiva’s grace and right conduct.
Though the Liṅga is not named here, the act of falling at the feet signifies approaching Saguna Shiva (the personal Lord) with reverence and repentance—an attitude central to Liṅga-worship, where devotion is expressed through bowing, prayer, and seeking forgiveness.
The implied practice is śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): offering heartfelt confession and prostration before Shiva, accompanied by steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating humility and restraint.
