It emphasizes dharma as a sacred alignment with cosmic order (Śiva’s ordinance), showing that even worldly rites like marriage become spiritually meaningful when performed carefully according to scriptural rule and right intent.
Though the verse is narrative, it reflects a key Shaiva theme: Saguna Śiva governs and sanctifies worldly life through dharma. Household duties, when dharmic, support purity of mind that matures into devotion and readiness for higher worship, including Linga-upāsanā.
The takeaway is disciplined observance (atandritā) of śāstric vidhi—performing rites with steadiness and reverence. In Shaiva practice, this same steadiness applies to daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and maintaining purity through regular worship.
