पार्वतीबाल्यलीलावर्णनम् — Description of Pārvatī’s Childhood/Birth Festivities
इत्थं सुवर्णिता लीला शिवायाः काचिदेव हि । अन्यलीलाम्प्रवक्ष्येऽहं शृणु त्वं प्रेमतो मुने
itthaṃ suvarṇitā līlā śivāyāḥ kācideva hi | anyalīlāmpravakṣye'haṃ śṛṇu tvaṃ premato mune
Sūta Gosvāmin
Sthala Purana: Purely narrative transition: Sūta closes one līlā and announces another; no sthala/Jyotirliṅga anchoring.
Significance: Encourages śravaṇa-bhakti (loving listening) as a means of saṃskāra and inner purification.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
The verse highlights the Purāṇic method: sacred history is transmitted as līlā, to be received with prema (devotional love). In Shaiva understanding, loving attentiveness purifies the mind and makes the listener fit to grasp Śiva-tattva through narrative.
By inviting the sage to hear another līlā, the text reinforces Saguna-oriented devotion—approaching the Divine through names, forms, and narrated deeds. Such śravaṇa (hearing) supports Linga worship by strengthening bhakti and reverence for Śiva-Śakti.
The implied practice is śravaṇa with devotion—listening to Śiva-kathā with focused mind and love. As a takeaway, pair recitation/hearing with the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to internalize the teaching.
