Mantra: namaḥ

It highlights śabda (sacred sound) as a carrier of auspiciousness: cries of praise (“Jaya”), surrender (“Namaḥ”), and Vedic resonance together signify divine presence, and by Shiva’s grace they break the “vighnas” that obstruct dharma, devotion, and inner clarity.
In Saguna Shiva worship—especially before the Linga—devotees commonly offer salutations (“Namaḥ”) and praises (“Jaya”). The verse frames such chanting as not merely celebratory but spiritually efficacious: sound offered to Shiva becomes an instrument that removes obstacles to worship and realization.
Chanting salutatory and Vedic sounds with devotion—such as repeating “Namaḥ” (and traditionally the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”)—as a focused practice to invoke auspiciousness and clear inner and outer impediments before pūjā or meditation.
