It teaches that spiritual discipline (niyama) must be completed with proper closure and mindful remembrance, so the vow becomes śubha—integrated, orderly, and spiritually efficacious rather than merely austere.
In Saguna Shaiva practice, vows connected to Shiva worship are framed by auspicious rites; remembering Gaṇeśa at completion aligns the devotee’s act with dharma and removes obstacles to the fruits of Linga-worship.
After finishing the vow’s restraints, formally conclude the niyamas and perform Gaṇeśa-smaraṇa—mentally invoking Gaṇeśa (or reciting a Gaṇeśa mantra) as a closing act to seal the vrata’s completion.
