Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights satya (truthful, complete narration) and sākhya-bhāva (trust in sacred friendship) as supports for dharma—truthfully recounting events in the presence of the Devī strengthens clarity, right understanding, and devotion within the Shaiva path.
Though not directly describing Linga worship, it reflects the Purāṇic method of transmitting Saguna Shiva’s līlā and the Devī’s role: hearing and recounting Shiva-related narratives (śravaṇa-kīrtana) is itself a devotional practice that nurtures bhakti toward Shiva and Shakti.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa (listening) and kīrtana (reverent recounting) of Shiva-Purāṇa kathā with completeness and sincerity—optionally accompanied by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and mindful remembrance of Girijā-Śiva.
