Aindra (standard Indra-stotra tune; exact gāna-name varies by śākhā)

{ "prastava": "(stobha-led) o/ho/hā prelude establishing the Aindra base-tone; text often begins after brief stobha.", "udgitha": "adhā hīndra girvaṇa upa tvā kāma īmahe (main melodic span; Indra-name typically receives elongation).", "pratihara": "sasṛgmahe (responsive turn; may be repeated/extended).", "upadrava": "udeva gmanta (after-song urging ascent/arrival).", "nidhana": "udabhiḥ (final cadence; ‘waters’ often lengthened to seal offering).", "structure_notes": "Kauthuma practice commonly distributes semantic peaks: Indra-name in udgītha; ritual-motion verbs (gmanta/ut) in upadrava; offering-medium (udabhiḥ) in nidhana.", "singer_assignments": "Prastotṛ: prastāva; Udgātṛ: udgītha+upadrava; Pratihartṛ: pratihāra; all three: nidhana (with Hotṛ/Adhvaryu silent coordination)." }

{ "gloss_summary": "girvaṇa = ‘stutibhiḥ prīyamāṇa’ (pleased by praises); sasṛgmahe = ‘stotram pravartitavantaḥ’ (we have set the hymn going); udabhiḥ = Soma’s waters/mixture aiding Indra’s approach to the yajña.", "ritual_interpretation": "The verse functions as āvāhana: the stoma is ‘sent forth’ so Indra arrives with Soma’s aqueous accompaniment at the offering-moment.", "theological_insight": "Praise is not mere description but an effective act that ‘moves’ the deity—i.e., activates the divine function within the rite.", "etymology_highlights": "girvaṇa explained via prīti in stuti; sasṛg- as ‘to send/let flow forth’ applied to stotra." }
