{ "gloss_summary": "Agni from ancient times destroys yātudhānas; rakṣas do not conquer him in battles; these hostile beings are also read as ritual obstructions that spoil offerings; Agni should burn flesh-devourers completely; his ‘heti’ is a divine punitive/protective power preventing their escape.", "ritual_interpretation": "Apotropaic use: safeguarding Soma offerings and the sacrificial sequence from defilement, mistakes, and obstructive forces.", "theological_insight": "Agni is both benefactor and guardian: the same fire that carries offerings also enforces purity by consuming what threatens ṛta.", "etymology_highlights": "heti = ‘weapon/impelling force’; rakṣas from root ‘to harm/protect’ in ritual sense—here harmful obstructor; yātudhāna as ‘harm-doer’/sorcerous enemy." }
