ऋजीपी श्येनो ददमानो अंशुं परावतः शकुनो मन्द्रं मदम् । सोमं भरद्दादृहाणो देवावान्दिवो अमुष्मादुत्तरादादाय ॥

Transliteration

ṛjīpī śyéno dádāmāno aṃśúṃ parāvátaḥ śakunó mandráṃ mádam | sómaṃ bhárad dādr̥hāṇó devávān divó amúṣmād úttarād ādā́ya ||

Translation

เหยี่ยวปีกตรง (ṛjīpī śyena) ผู้ถวายก้านคั้น (aṃśu) นำความปีติอันรื่นรมย์แห่งความเมา (mándra máda) มาจากแดนไกลโพ้น เขายึดมั่นพลังอันเต็มด้วยเทพ (devāvant) แล้วอัญเชิญโสมะ (Soma) ลงมาจากแดนสูงยิ่งแห่งฟ้า และชิงมันจากยอดอันสูงสุด—เพื่อให้ความปีติเมานั้นเข้าสู่ภาชนะของมนุษย์
