आत्मा देवानां भुवनस्य गर्भो यथावशं चरति देव एषः । घोषा इदस्य शृण्विरे न रूपं तस्मै वाताय हविषा विधेम ॥

ātmā́ devā́nāṁ bhúvanasya gárbho yáthāvaśaṁ carati devá eṣáḥ | ghóṣā íd asya śṛṇvire ná rū́paṁ tásmai vā́tāya havíṣā vidhema ||

เขาคืออาตมัน (ātman) แห่งเหล่าเทพ คือครรภ์แห่งโลก เทพองค์นี้ดำเนินไปตามประสงค์ เสียงของเขาย่อมได้ยิน แต่รูปของเขามิปรากฏ ดังนั้นเราทั้งหลายจักบูชาด้วยฮวิส (havis) แด่วาตะ (Vāta) เทพแห่งลม—เป็นการน้อมยอมต่อผู้ขับเคลื่อนอันมองไม่เห็น
