Sukta 1.80
स त्वामदद्वृषा मदः सोमः श्येनाभृतः सुतः । येना वृत्रं निरद्भ्यो जघन्थ वज्रिन्नोजसार्चन्ननु स्वराज्यम् ॥
sá tvā́ amadat vṛ́ṣā mádaḥ sómaḥ śyenā́bhṛtaḥ sutáḥ | yéna vṛtráṃ nír adbhyó jaghántha vajrinn ójasā́rcan ánu sva-rā́jyam ||
โสมะ (Soma) นั้น—ซึ่งนกเหยี่ยว (śyena) นำมาและคั้นแล้ว เป็นความปีติประหนึ่งโคผู้—ได้ทำให้ท่านยินดี ด้วยสิ่งนั้นท่านได้ฟาดฟันวฤตระ (Vṛtra) ให้พ้นจากสายน้ำ โอ วัชริน (Vajrin) ด้วยกำลังของท่าน ท่านขับขานสรรเสริญ ก้าวเข้าสู่ราชอำนาจแห่งตน (svarājya)
