Sukta 1.164
माता पितरमृत आ बभाज धीत्यग्रे मनसा सं हि जग्मे । सा बीभत्सुर्गर्भरसा निविद्धा नमस्वन्त इदुपवाकमीयुः ॥
mātā́ pitáram ṛté ā́ babhāja dhītī́ ágre mánasā sáṃ hí jagme | sā́ bī́bhatsur gárbha-rasā́ ní-viddhā námasvanta íd upa-vākám īyuḥ ||
มารดาได้แบ่งปันกับบิดาโดยไม่ล่วงละเมิด ṛta (สัจจะ–ระเบียบจักรวาล); ในปฐมกาล วิสัยทัศน์ผู้ก่อรูปได้ประสานกับใจ (manas). นางน่าเกรงขาม อุดมด้วย rasa (แก่นรส) แห่งครรภ์ ตั้งมั่นแน่วแน่—ดังนั้นผู้มีนมัสการจึงมุ่งมาใกล้นาง สู่ถ้อยคำ (vāc) อันเปล่งใกล้ (upavāk).
