Indrajit–Lakshmana Battle and the Rallying of the Vanaras
तदद्भुतमभूत्तत्रसामर्थ्यंपश्यतांयुधि ।हयेषुव्यग्रहस्तं त विव्याधनिशितैःशरैः ।।।।धनुष्यथपुनर्व्यग्रेहयेषुमुमुचेशरान् ।
tad adbhutam abhūt tatra sāmarthyaṃ paśyatāṃ yudhi | hayeṣu vyagrahastaṃ taṃ vivyādha niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ || dhanuṣi atha punar vyagre hayeṣu mumuce śarān ||
ในสนามรบ ณ ที่นั้น ความสามารถของเขากลายเป็นสิ่งอัศจรรย์แก่ผู้ที่เฝ้าดู แม้มือจะยุ่งกับการควบคุมม้า เขาก็ยังถูกศรคมแทงทะลุ แล้วครั้นกลับมาวุ่นอยู่กับคันธนูและม้าอีกครั้ง ก็ปล่อยศรออกมาเป็นระลอก
While Indrajith was engaged with the horses in one hand and battling, his capacity was a wonder to the onlookers. Lakshmana again attacked him loosening pointed arrows at him while Indrajith was busy with his bow.
The verse underscores the discipline and focus demanded in righteous warfare: skill is tested when duties collide (driving, aiming, defending). It implicitly values steadiness and competence in one’s role.
Indrajit is simultaneously handling the horses and fighting; amid this, sharp arrows strike him and volleys are exchanged.
