Kumbhakarna’s Departure for Battle
गमिष्याम्यहमेकाकीतिष्ठत्विहबलंमम ।।।।अद्यतान् क्षुभितान् क्रुद्धोभक्षयिष्यामिवानरान् ।
gamiṣyāmy aham ekākī tiṣṭhatv iha balaṃ mama |
adya tān kṣubhitān kruddho bhakṣayiṣyāmi vānarān ||
เราจะออกไปเพียงลำพัง ให้กองทัพของเราอยู่ที่นี่เถิด วันนี้ด้วยความพิโรธ เราจะกลืนกินเหล่าวีรชนวานรที่กำลังเดือดดาลนั้น
Enraged and angry Kumbhakarna said, "I will proceed now. Let my army remain here. I will consume them on keys today."
The verse portrays rage and dehumanizing violence (“devour”); Dharma emphasizes restraint (dama) and seeing opponents as moral agents, not as objects for destruction.
Kumbhakarṇa declares he will advance alone, leaving the army behind, and threatens the Vānara forces.
Personal daring and self-reliance in combat are emphasized (though paired with uncontrolled anger).
