शरबन्धनम् (The Binding by Arrows) / Indrajit’s Illusory Assault and the Vanaras’ Consolation
तस्मादुत्सृज्यवैक्लब्यंसर्वकार्यविनाशनम् ।।6.46.38।।हितंरामपुरोगणांसैन्यानानुचिन्त्यताम् ।
tasmād utsṛjya vaiklabyaṃ sarvakārya-vināśanam | hitam rāma-puro-gāṇāṃ sainyānām anucintyatām ||
ฉะนั้น จงละทิ้งความท้อถอยอันทำลายกิจทั้งปวงเสีย และให้พระศรีรามทรงนำหน้า แล้วพึงใคร่ครวญสิ่งที่เป็นประโยชน์แท้แก่กองทัพทั้งหลาย
"Therefore, give up faint-heartedness as all actions will be destroyed by that. Following Rama's leadership, think of the army's welfare."
Dharma here is steadfastness in righteous duty: despair is ethically and practically harmful because it destroys the capacity to act for the common good.
After Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa are struck down, panic spreads in the Vānara camp; Vibhīṣaṇa urges leaders to abandon fear and think of the army’s welfare under Rāma’s cause.
Leadership through courage and clarity—choosing constructive action over emotional collapse.
