Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
This verse marks the definitive moment where Vibhishana chooses Dharma over blood relations. By leaving Ravana immediately ('muhūrtena') after his righteous counsel was rejected, he demonstrates that one must abandon even a brother if he adheres to Adharma.
It refers to the 'harsh words' or the stern truth Vibhishana spoke to Ravana. While the advice was for Ravana's benefit (Hitam), it was perceived as harsh because it challenged Ravana's ego and unrighteous actions.
