रावणस्य परिव्राजकवेषेण सीतासमीपगमनम्
Ravana Approaches Sita Disguised as a Mendicant
उपनीयासनं पूर्वं पाद्येनाभिनिमन्त्र्य च।।।।अब्रवीत्सिद्धमित्येव तदा तं सौम्यदर्शनम्।
upanīyāsanaṃ pūrvaṃ pādyenābhinimantrya ca |
abravīt siddham ity eva tadā taṃ saumyadarśanam ||
นางนำอาสนะมาถวายก่อน แล้วถวาย น้ำล้างเท้าเชื้อเชิญ จากนั้นจึงกล่าวแก่แขกผู้มีรูปโฉมอ่อนโยนว่า “พร้อมแล้ว”
She offered the handsome guest a seat first and then water for washing his feet with, and then invited him for food.
Dharma is expressed through proper guest-reception: offering a seat, foot-water, and food—traditional markers of respect and satya in conduct.
Sītā performs the formal steps of welcoming the disguised visitor as an honored guest.
Courtesy and disciplined righteousness in social duties (ācāra).
