When you, O vile demon, will go into eternal sleep the Dandaka grounds will provide shelter to those who deserve it here.
Dharma is framed as restoring safety to the vulnerable—especially sages and the innocent. Removing a tyrannical threat is portrayed as enabling a just social and spiritual ecology where the worthy can live without fear.
Rama declares that once the rakshasa menace is ended, the Dandaka region will again serve as sanctuary for the righteous rather than a hunting-ground for demons.
Rama’s role as protector (rakṣaka): his commitment to making wilderness safe for ascetics and noncombatants.
