Winter Description and Reflection on Bharata’s Devotion
तर्पयित्वाऽथ सलिलैस्ते पितृ़न्दैवतानि च।स्तुवन्ति स्मोदितं सूर्यं देवताश्च समाहिताः।।।।
tarpayitvā 'tha salilais te pitṝn daivatāni ca |
stuvanti smoditaṃ sūryaṃ devatāś ca samāhitāḥ ||
ครั้นแล้วเขาทั้งหลายได้บูชาถวายน้ำทักษิณาให้บรรพชนและเทพทั้งปวงจนเป็นที่พอใจ แล้วตั้งจิตแน่วแน่สรรเสริญพระสุริยะผู้เพิ่งอุทัย; เหล่าเทพยดาก็ยืนพร้อมเพรียงอย่างสงบสำรวม
People in the countryside with their desires satisfied obtain abundant cow's milk at this time. Rulers of the earth are out on their expedition with a desire for victory.
It teaches gratitude and continuity of sacred obligations: honoring pitṛs and devatās with offerings and truthful reverence sustains moral order (ṛta/dharma).
After bathing at Godāvarī, the trio performs water-offerings and praises the rising Sun in a composed state.
Śraddhā and self-discipline: careful performance of rites even while living in hardship.
