नेतिनेति तथा विप्रा द्विजांस्तांस्तत्र संस्थितान् । ब्रह्मोवाचाभिसंप्रेक्ष्य ब्राह्मणान्क्रोधपूरितान्

netineti tathā viprā dvijāṃstāṃstatra saṃsthitān | brahmovācābhisaṃprekṣya brāhmaṇānkrodhapūritān

เหล่าวิประกล่าวซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่าว่า “เนติ เนติ—ไม่ใช่นี้ ไม่ใช่นี้” และยืนอยู่ ณ ที่นั้น ต่อมาพระพรหมาเมื่อทอดพระเนตรพราหมณ์ผู้เปี่ยมด้วยโทสะ ก็ตรัสขึ้น
