B
Brahmā

FAQs

It presents dīkṣā as a binding consecration: once established in a vow, Brahmā will not act contrary to it, even to accept a boon, highlighting steadiness and restraint.

Brahmā identifies himself as “sarva-kāma-prada,” implying that those who approach him with prayer may obtain desired results—yet his giving operates within the limits of dharma and vowed conduct.

The verse emphasizes integrity: one should not compromise a consecrated commitment for personal gain, status, or reciprocation, even when something attractive is offered.
