Application: Respond quickly and gladly to parents’ requests; cultivate ‘harṣa’ rather than resentment—turning duty into purifying practice.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

It states that a person who goes with heartfelt joy attains the same spiritual merit associated with bathing in the Gaṅgā, highlighting Gaṅgā-snāna as a benchmark of sacred merit.

By comparing the pilgrim to a son rushing to his mother when called, it implies that willing, joyful responsiveness (hārṣa) is central—outer action gains power when accompanied by sincere inner gladness.

It encourages prompt, affectionate readiness toward dharmic or sacred calls—approaching holy acts with love and eagerness rather than reluctance.
