Puruṣottama-māhātmya
The Greatness of Puruṣottama Kṣetra
yena mucyeta ātmeśa durgasaṃsārasāgarāt | tvāmṛte nāsti loke'sminvaktā saṃśayanirṇaye || 61 ||
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It frames liberation (moksha) as crossing the formidable saṃsāra-sāgara and declares the Supreme Inner Lord as the final authority who alone can conclusively remove spiritual doubt.
By addressing the Lord directly and affirming that no other teacher can match Him in doubt-removal, the verse points to surrender (śaraṇāgati) and God-centered listening/learning as the core of bhakti leading to freedom from saṃsāra.
The verse emphasizes saṃśaya-nirṇaya (methodical doubt-resolution), a practical discipline aligned with śāstra-based reasoning and correct interpretation—supporting accurate study and application of Vedic teachings.
