वसिष्ठ उवाच । संप्रस्थितावुभौ राजन्गिरिशीर्षाद्धरातलम् । पश्यमानौ बहून्भावान्गिरिजातान्मनोहरमनोहरान् ॥ १ ॥

vasiṣṭha uvāca | saṃprasthitāvubhau rājangiriśīrṣāddharātalam | paśyamānau bahūnbhāvāngirijātānmanoharamanoharān || 1 ||

วสิษฐะกล่าวว่า—ข้าแต่พระราชา ทั้งสองออกเดินจากยอดเขาลงสู่พื้นพิภพ พลางทอดพระเนตรสิ่งน่าพิศวงอันงดงามมากมายซึ่งบังเกิดจากภูผา ॥๑॥
